2015 is over… and it was an inspiring year for our capital city. In the 107th meeting of the EU Regions Committee, Lisbon received the award of European Entrepreneurial City.
During 2015, in order to promote innovation and entrepreneurship, the City Council developed a set of measures that included the following projects:- StartUp Lisboa – A business incubator to foster business and employment;
- Lisboa Empreende – Designed to help entrepreneurs who have a business idea for Lisbon;
- Fab Lab Lisboa – A laboratory of digital manufacturing;
- Youth Entrepreneurship – Designed to develop entrepreneurship education for young people.
The city was recognized for implementing key European policies such as the Small Business Act and the Europe 2020 Strategy for growth and employment and it’s definitely becoming a strategic hub which fosters the creation of companies and helps young entrepreneurs with business basics.
